End of Summer
we're almost at the end of another season - the mornings are a little crisper now and the change is definetely in the air....Summer is on its way out
and before you know it Autumn will be here!

i love what a new cooler season brings planning new
food menus with the seasonal fruit and vegetables,
maybe a new fragrance, a darker richer haircolour ...or even a new pair of sturdy boots

I will however miss walking barefoot on my cool kitchen tiles and eating lunch outdoors, balmy summer evening strolls...
So until we meet again, Goodbye Summer!

A Crafty Mess
when it comes to my craft supplies im an
'Out of sight out of mind'
kinda girl,
i need to have my things out there for me to see, pick up and touch
but
this leads to a big mess and piles of 'stuff' everywhere - its constant chaos in our spare room
and my work-in-progress piles are slowly moving into the family room...my crafty mess is starting to have a life of its own!
some lovely craft rooms to be inspired by
(why cant I be so organised??)

The House Dress

My latest retro girl Gift tag set is a little tribute to the simple
Housedress - pretty but never precious!
Woman of past generations were used to wearing these light, comfortable dresses when doing their daily house chores, my Grandmother still has a wardrobe full of them!

A cool Housedress would be perfect for dull sticky days like today!

sweet bites
I was watching 'Giada at Home' on the 'Lifestyle Food' channel
last week and she made these simple apricot and walnut treats to finish off her lunch menu .
they looked really good and so simple that I knew I would have to try them sometime.

We were invited to my parents for dinner last night so thought a perfect chance to give them a go!
They only took 20mins to make and approx 5mins for everyone to polish them off...heehe

You can find the recipe here

Unconditional Love
Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get–only with what you are expecting to give–which is everything.

A Week of Love
Fun Love quotes

Love one another and you will be happy. It's as simple and as difficult as that.
-Michael Leunig

You know it's love when you want to keep holding hands even after you're sweaty.

“Charlotte: So how are you?
Carrie: I'm good. How are you?
Charlotte: Great.
Carrie: I told Aidan about the affair and he broke up with me.
Charlotte: Trey and I never had sex on our honeymoon.
Carrie: You win. So. Should we get more coffee or should we get two guns and kill ourselves?”
- Sex and the city

I always just hoped that, that I'd meet some nice friendly girl, like the look of her, hope the look of me didn't make her physically sick, then pop the question and... um... settle down and be happy. It worked for my parents. Well, apart from the divorce and all that.
- Four Weddings and a Funeral

That's why they call them crushes. If they were easy, they'd call them something else

a week of LoVE
Style Icon: Jenny Cavallari

' LOVE Story (1970)' - one of my favourite movies that I love to curl up and watch when Im on my own... ive seen it so many times!

The story can seem a little cheesy these days and the acting quite bad haha
but the lovers Jenny and Oliver, are so likeable as we watch them fall in love (infamous lines "Jenny, for Christ’s sake, how can I read John Stuart Mill when every single second I’m dying to make love to you?") and their differences, support of one another ("love means never having to say your sorry' )
and of course the tragic ending ....'What can you say about a twenty-five year old girl who died? That she was beautiful and brilliant. That she loved Mozart and Bach. The Beatles. And me.'

Grab your tissues people as this movie will make you cry!
The scenery of Boston and New York is an added plus and the music score very beautiful!
One of the most inspiring things for me is (Ali McGraw) Jenny Cavallari's preppy style, totally worth watching just for the fashion!
All her outfits are wearable now, 40 years later!
Beautiful camel wool coat, cloche hats and opaque stockings with cute mod style flats, flirty skirts and turtlenecks, trench coat, white jeans with navy tee in Summer - its a classic american look that will never date - even her simple wedding day suit with a silky ribbon in her hair - Just perfect!
she's definetely one of my style icons!
you can see the trailer here - go grab it on DVD, you'll love it!
